Get out and see the Land while continuing the conversation. Let’s take a Culture Walk together.

If your elders are no longer with you or are unwilling to be filmed telling their stories, you (with their blessing) still have an opportunity to ensure your family’s history can be kept forever. Culture Walks are guided hike events that take place within the beautiful outdoor areas that allow us to begin reconnecting to the Land. Healthy light meals with ingredients grown from Mother Earth will be provided to keep us connected to our ancestors who may have once tended the same crops. While walking and snacking, cultural conversations will also be sparked so that we can jointly birth a new culturally inclusive, environmentally-sound paradigm for our futures together. Each hike has a different conversation topic and tailors to either youth (18-25) or young adults(ages 25+) so check our calendar below to find a day that works best for you and…. let’s take a Culture Walk together!

Chasm Lake (difficult)

Join us bright and early for the 8 mile hike that leads to Chasm Lake. Here we will find our way above tree line where we can truly gaze out onto the Land and begin feeling our connectedness once more. Everyone may bring along hiking sticks and snow shoes if needed for more comfort and ease. However, the main tool to make this longer Culture Walk a success will be everyone’s desire to speak about our peoples and how they may once have admired the Land just as we are now. Let’s use what precious time we have to Rebuild Earth Culture.

Ute Trail (moderate to difficult)

Ute Trail is a 6 mile hike within White River National Forest that offers some exercise due to its quick elevation gain. While reaching the summit, we will also likely have the chance to act like kids again due to the beautiful snowpack that provides amazing fresh air along with a quiet comfort that only the outdoors can provide. Join us on this quest while we continue to Rebuild Earth Culture together.
